About Me

Hi, I’m Clare, the maker behind Little Bear. I create handcrafted memory bears and keepsakes from cherished clothing, transforming sentimental fabrics into meaningful, lasting treasures.
My love of sewing began in school, where I studied textiles at GCSE, and it has remained a part of my life ever since in different ways. Most recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I put my skills to use by sewing surgical gowns for my local hospital. But it was after the birth of my two children that Little Bear truly began. Wanting to preserve their most precious outfits, I created my first memory bears - beautiful keepsakes filled with love and memories.
Before launching Little Bear, I successfully ran an award winning small business, gaining valuable experience in both business and customer care. That journey gave me the confidence to follow my passion and create something even more personal.
In 2024, with the support of a government-funded grant awarded through BIPC Northamptonshire, I was able to invest in my vision and officially bring Little Bear to life.
Every keepsake I create is made with the utmost care and attention to detail, because I know just how precious these items are. I love hearing the stories behind each piece of clothing, from a baby’s first outfit to a loved one’s cherished shirt, and it’s an honour to help preserve those memories in a meaningful way.
The artistic and creative process of making each bear is incredibly special to me. From carefully selecting the perfect fabric placement to adding the final stitch, I pour my heart into every step, ensuring every creation is as unique as the memories it holds. My goal is to provide something you can treasure forever, something that brings comfort, joy, and a tangible, lasting connection to the people and moments you hold dear.
The name Little Bear is inspired by my own children and the bears I first made for them, as well as our shared love of watching the stars and the night sky. Now, it brings me joy to share that same love, care and craftsmanship with others.
Thank you for being here, I’d be honoured to help bring your memories to life, one stitch at a time.
